Four ways to make great coffee off grid

Cowboy Coffee

No filters. No gadgets. Just coffee, water, and grit.

What you'll need:

  • Small pot or kettle
  • Ground Coffee
  • Heat Source
  • Water
  • (Optional) Bandana or shirt for make shift filtering

How to Brew cowboy coffee

  • Boil water over a fire or stove.
  • Remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons of your Outhouse Coffee for every 8oz of water.
  • Let sit for 4 -5 minutes. Grounds will settle.
  • Pour slowly to avoid stirring up the grounds or strain through cloth.

Pro Tip: Toss in a splash of cold water at the end to help settle the grounds to the bottom faster.

  • Traveling French Press
  • Coarse Ground Coffee
  • Hot Water

How to Use A French Press

  • Add 1 tablespoon coffee per 4 oz of water.
  • Pour hot water evenly, stir, and let steep 4 minutes.
  • Press down slowly and serve.

Pro Tip: Preheat the press with hot water for better extraction and heat retention.
